WATER LEAK AT AC PLENUM.
VENDOR DENIES HIS WORKERS REPAIR!
VENDOR LEFT A LOOSE HOSE IN ATTIC
We are in communication with the board regarding the "roof repair" the ac company removed the humidifer & attempted the roof repair on 1/26/15. We have pictures of before the fix and rain water dripping and after the fix. Robert the vendor had 2 workers come on 1/26/15 which included patching some tar on the roof where the plenum meets the roof. I followed up with the investigator who says that Robert is now denying their attempted repair of the roof to absolve himself of the liability. Also, with the removal of the humidifer, the vendor left a humidifer hose loose- this is causing the unit not to be airtight, loosing efficiency.
Consumer's Complaint :
?Contractor places a irrelevant yelp review on Consumer's business to bring down a 5 star review?
1. AC FAILED during summer 2014.
Consumer contracted for a 20 seer high efficient iq drive 5 ton maytag (manufacturer is nordyne) for approximately $14,000.
2 months after installation (in the heat of our las vegas summer time 6-26-14 to 7-7-14) the AC did not cool. The supply house was notified. The supply house took it upon themselves to hire a 3rd party (Brian of New Air tel 702 878 3101) resize the ductwork and resize the dampers. The Per Robert (the owner), the supply house paid New Air approx $4,000 to get the unit to cool. The supply house then sent their Technician to reset the AC to factory settings.
2. LEAKY HUMIDIFIER + MOLD
Improper install of AC + Humidifier that failed resulting in leak and mold
* Humidifyer not functioning/ Causing Leak in Ceiling -
* 5/12/2014, the day before the leak, the Contractor came to the Consumer's home and cleaned the
plenum. Contractor did the final hook up for the Humidifyer and turned it on. The Consumer
turned up the Humidifyer full blast. The next morning, there was a leak in the ceiling.
* R6 vs R8. (R8 is a better product and specified in the contract)
The Contractor failed to follow the contract, and installed inferior ducts, as inspected by the City
Inspector.
* Delay. 4/3/2014 to 4/10/2014
* Late to Start - Work was scheduled for Monday, 3/31/2014.
Contractor said he wasn't ready. Work commenced on 4/3/2014. 4 days after original contract
start date.
* Passed Estimated Time - The Contractor told us the job would take 3 days to complete. The
contractor had 3 guys the first day, and 2 workers the rest of the days. The contractor ceased
work 1 week later on 4/10/2014.
* Contractor's workers were not clean. They did not use any foot coverings until 4/10/2014. (pay day)
They did not work with any tarps to catch drywall shavings. The Consumer had to vacuum the
house with a toddler and young child (age 3) every day after the Contractor for a week. They
did not clean up drywall messes and left nails in the carpet/floor. They also left insulation in the
front yard. They did all their clean up on 4/10/2014 (pay day). The Contractor said they will
return to clean up and patch holes (interior and exterior stucco), etc later.
* Additional work - The contractor failed to include "RETURNS" in his initial estimate. Consumer paid
$800 extra for additional work. The Consumer doesn't understand why the Contractor failed to include
this in the original bid.
* Contractor NEVER advised or provide proof that the Units have been registered with the manufacturer.
Consumer registered unit.
* Contractor has not yet advised Consumer as to when the rebates would work or who to contact to
follow up on the rebates. Consumer had to call the manufacturer and NV Energy to check and found
out. Rebates still unpaid.
* Contractor's worker slipped in the attic and cracked the drywall in a secondary bedroom. The
Consumer repaired the drywall out of pocket.
* The Contractor verbally agreed to change out the Plenum, and had his worker as a witness.
Thereafter the Contractor explained he meant to CLEAN it, not replace it, and he explained that the
witness (his employee) does not speak English.
3. FALSE INFORMATION SUBMITTED TO BOND INSURANCE CO. Resulting in a denial of claim.
4. Contractor violated his contractor's license limit of $10,000. Our contract was for $14,000.
5. RECENT DEVELOPMENTS- Roof leak... on going denials.
6. Contractor still has not paid the consumer the rebates, owing $580. Per the contract, we were to receive a Nevada Energy (NV ENERGY) rebate + Maytag Rebate.
7. Consumer paid $ our of pocket to abate the property and the Contractor sends us a Nasty Email.
