| - I came here for the first time a few weeks ago for the Sir Sly and K. Flay show, and was pleasantly surprised. I had never heard of either artist and came on a whim, but they completely rocked it! The venue is much bigger than it appears from the outside, and there was ample free street parking which was a huge plus. There was also a paid lot around the corner with parking for $10, which isn't the worst thing. It was a little too cold that night to spend much time outside, but the patio is huge and there's an outside bar for quicker service. The main entrance/bar area is gorgeous, with these huge chandeliers that I'm completely obsessed with. A Tito's and soda was $9, which seems pretty standard for a show, though there are plenty of awesome bars in the area if you want to save some money and grab a couple drinks beforehand. Other than a few cocktail tables in the back, the main room is standing room only and super well ventilated, which is definitely ideal when you're dancing up a storm around hundreds of other people doing the exact same thing. The visuals were top notch, but the sound seemed a little off the night we were there. One huge positive - they had the cleanest bathrooms of any music venue I've ever been to! I would definitely come back to the Van Buren for another show.
