| - I actually really like the venue itself, its the staff I have a problem with. On one occasion I stood at the bar for 35 mins while the bartender kept serving everyone around me. I got to the show before the music started and I actually missed the first couple songs because getting a drink took that long. And its not like it was overly crowded and it took 35 mins to get through a crowd of people to get to the bar, I was actually standing AT the bar and watched the bartender to serve people to my left and right and never me. Finally I got fed up and made a comment to the person next to me about how I had been waiting 35 mins. What does the bartender do? Comes up to me right away and in a very nasty tone yells at me, "What do you want princess?" Are you fucking kidding me? I've patiently waited my turn for over half an hour and you have the nerve to call me princess? RUDE. I order two drinks: a beer and a mixed drink. When I finally get them I pay and hurry into the music. When I take my first sip of my gin and tonic, its obvious, theres NO gin in my gin and tonic. NONE. I paid $7 for a cup of tonic water. I was LIVID, what a rip off.
About a month later I go back to Neighborhood theater for another show. Again, I love the venue. I went back thinking what happened last time wont happen again. Maybe I caught that bartender on a bad night, maybe I reminded him of someone he hated or something haha. I go to the bar to order my drink and this time I don't have to wait as long. The wait really wasn't bad and it was busy so I didn't mind. So that part was better! I ordered a gin and tonic again, paid for it, and took a couple steps away from the bar before I tasted it and realized there is no gin in my gin and tonic, AGAIN. Are you kidding me? I immediately went back to the bar and told the bartender. I told him I knew there wasn't any gin in my drink, he gets angry, rolls his eyes, aggressively takes the cup, slams it into the garbage, and makes another one in front of me without saying a word. I didn't know what he expected....if you didn't make the drink I paid for, you're going to have to make it again.
I also need to say that I have been to Neighborhood Theater many other times, without incident at all. I have normal, okay, experiences the majority of the time I go there. I used to work as a bartender, I know how it goes, certain things piss you off. But theres really no excuse to call someone names, or sell fraudulent drinks.
