| - DINNER REVIEW (not the buffet)
Honestly, I don't know how they do it. This is probably one of the most innovative sushi places I've been in America, and I LOVE sushi. You won't be ordering the California roll, spicy tuna, or other traditional rolls. Instead, they just do something way off the boat and completely different and have a dedicated menu full of random assortments of sushi.
- Venue
I'm honestly sort of partial about the venue. Fairly loud, not high class, but not homey either. I just can't put my finger on it as it doesn't really have a theme. Maybe a good thing?
- Food/Sushi
Just a marvel. First of all: VERY WELL PRICED. Everything for the most part is under $10, which is pretty much unheard of for a good sushi restaurant. The sushi itself comes in a variety of different mixtures with a unique look for every different roll. Ru San's has it's own original sushi menu which lists well over 30 different rolls, most of which you may not have ever heard of. I tried a few:
New Moon Maki 10/10: Shrimp sushi with baked scallops on top was to die for. Literally had a bed of scallop that was cooked to perfection and to top it off it had eel sauce (which is my personal favorite).
Pearl Harbor Shrimp Bomb Sushi 10/10: Not necessarily a roll per say, but a huge tempura contraption on top of a huge portion of rice and garlic sauce. Very big portions of tiger shrimp that went very well with the sauce. Pretty much a de-constructed sushi roll.
We had quite a lot of sushi, but those 2 were definitely my highlights. Overall, everything tasted delicious, looked fantastic, and came at good portions for an amazing price.
Would come back as often as possible. Great spot.
