  • Disappointing, to say the least! Took my 9 and 12 yr old to make Father's Day crafts for their Dad. After much deliberation they each chose a craft. My youngest chose a TIC TAC TOE board made out of a slice of tree with the bark attached and my oldest chose a photo frame. They were given plastic aprons to protect their clothes and off we went to get started on our projects. As I got the photo frame all set up, to my horror I turned around to see that the one and only employee had set my 9 yr old up to burn his # in the wood with a wood burning tool. She gave him a very worn glove with holes in the tips to protect him from the extreme heat. No direction was given other than the Ipad tutorial. The minute he picked up the scorching wood burning tool he burned his finger because of the hole in the glove, panicked and dropped the hot tool on his lap with the plastic apron. Now I had a burned leg, finger and a wood burning tool covered in melted plastic. Agh, I took over the task, only to have 2 tips on the wood burning tool snap off and break. Meanwhile my 12 yr old was hard at work on her picture frame with low budget glue guns that hardly worked.I gave up after the second wood burner failed me. The employee allowed my 9 yr old to pick another craft. At this point I just wanted to run for the hills. He chose a Frisbee that he spin art painted on. A simple plastic Frisbee with a round paper sticker on top.....a WHOPPING $15.00!!!!!!!!!!! Overall, what started out with good intent, an afternoon spent with my kiddos creating Father's Day masterpieces turned out to be a stress filled disaster. (although the frame turned out okay!) Perhaps more staffing, better tools and equipment, and a more kid friendly selection of crafts would help, but its too late for us. We will NOT be back!! PINSPIRATION gets a FAIL in my book.
