| - I am getting ICL surgery done on my eyes next month at the Wellish Vision Institute, but must see a retina specialist for clearance before the surgery can occur. My insurance does not cover the appointment needed by the retina specialists so an appointment was made at the Center for Sight office so they could hopefully look deep into my retinas and clear me for surgery. Upon arrival, I had to wait half an hour after the appointment was set to even be called back. Finally when I was seen, the technician, or whatever the initial guy i met with title is, asked me why I was there, I told him I would have to pay $250 out of pocket to be seen by the retina specialist at Nevada Retina Center, and I needed clearance. The technician, or male eye nurse as I'll refer to him now, said "well I don't understand why you're here, were not retina specialists" with an attitude as if he was annoyed I was trying to explain my situation. He then said well we can look at your retinas, but can't really do what you're asking, so I went ahead and waited to see Dr. Ruben F. Salinas Garcia, as his full name is stated on his card. After waiting another 15 minutes, he came in with an irritable attitude and said "we're not retina specialists, so why are you here"? I once again explained the situation, and he continued to speak to me as if I was a complete idiot. My girlfriend was at the appointment with me, and said "I understand you're not retina specialists, can you refer us to a specialist." He then went on to say the most disrespectful thing I've ever heard a doctor say to anyone, in a very patronizing tone. Dr. Salinas Garcia said "understand me, we're not retina specialists and we can't do that." My girlfriend said "I do understand you", and he replied "oh you understand, what did I say??" My girlfriend and I have never felt so disrespected by a "doctor" in our lives and it is ridiculous a medical professional who has supposedly worked in his field for over 30 years feels it is appropriate to speak to patients in such a way. In the end, he wrote a referral to go see a retina specialist but I will not be going to any doctor that Dr. Salinas Garcia or the entire Center for Sight associates themselves with. I would not recommend this place to anyone. My name is Jesse Chippoletti and I am actually disgusted with the way this arrogant man feels it is appropriate to speak to women.
