We decided to take our kids on a mini vacation to Montreal this long weekend and went with a four star hotel option on Hotwire. Was very excited when we got the fairmont Queen Elizabeth as I've heard great things about the fairmont group of hotel from my coworkers who travel often. Maybe I'm tired from the long car ride as when I checked in I found the concierge lady kind of patronizing. Especially after I declined her recommendation to upgrade our room to a suite for $80/night extra. I guessed we could've used the extra space but I didn't want to make our kids sleep on a sofa bed. The room itself is quite tiny for a four star hotel. The bathtub has some hardened stains on it that makes me kind of scared to bath my kids in there. It was a bit chilly when we entered the room so we decided to turn on the heat. Unfortunately it was so loud I needed to turn it off so we can sleep. One more night to go..hopefully tomorrow will be better after a good nights rest. Almost forgot to mention. The gentleman that brought our luggage up was very nice and after we asked about dinner delivery options (as we were too tired to venture out after so much driving) he came back upstairs to bring us a menu for a local pizzeria. The food was great too! Thanks for that! He was the reason for an extra star.
