Just back from an incredibly disappointing meal at Sassi. We had read so many positive reviews that we were really excited for fine Italian dining reminiscent of Italy
The meal started off with a pathetic basket of cold, soggy focacia, crackers and bread that looked like it was from Safeway. Salads were bland, antipasto for two was a pretentious disappointment as was the Bolognese (try (cafe Bink), dry pork chop, boring deserts and high prices.
While the restaurant itself was lovely it could not compensate for the truly disappointing food. If you want great homemade pasta , breads, salad's, entrees and wine at half the price try Nicks in the AJ's shopping center at Pima and Pinnacle Peak Rd's.
