| - So our luck continued after a wonderful flying experience with Virgin America airlines. We checked in at the front desk by a young, pleasant-looking gentleman named, Solei (I believe that is how you spell his name). After asking where we were from, I blurted out that we were in Vegas to celebrate one of our friend's birthday. My modest friend then replied that it was also for my birthday, which was a month and a half ago. Anyway, this becomes relevant later on.
We were really surprised with the suite we got- it came with a nice big bathtub, a pull out sofa in the common living room, and a well-equipped kitchen with dishes, wine glasses, cups, plates, microwave, stove, and all the essentials if you were ambitious enough to actually cook dinner while on vacation in Vegas. There was even a washer and dryer! You can definitely survive here if you were to stay for a week plus because it literally was like an apartment-style room.
Since we had time before our other friends flew in, we went down to the Marketplace (stars for the convenience of this mini grocery store, coffee/sandwich/pizza shop) to grab pizza and champagne. They even have a gym located right next to the Marketplace. After we waited about 20 minutes for our delicious pizza we headed back to our room on the 14th floor. Just as we were turning the corner of the hallway, a hotel personnel walked passed us & slyly and nonchalantly said, "There is a surprise waiting for you in room 1418." It caught us off guard, so we immediately proceeded to our room...lo and behold, Solei, the nice gentleman, had took note of our comments about our birthdays and sent a bottle of champagne and a signed birthday card to our room while we were out for about half an hour. Talk about exceptional hospitality service and going beyond to satisfy their customers! Major points right there!
Overall, I was really satisfied with our stay here. They responded quickly when our cards didn't work and when we requested more towels & blankets, the concierge was helpful, loved the Marketplace and the gym. The only negative thing was that the hotel is not on the main Strip, so we had to cab it everywhere we went.
