Been here twice. First time was with my master for her bday. Everything from the food to the service I recalled was nothing short of excellent.
We started off with the French Onion Gratin and Chicken Matzo Balls Soup. Both were amazing, but if i had to pick I would order the French Onion soup only because I prefer delicate veggies in my soup. Add some soggy bread and a thick layer of Gruyere cheese to that sweet beefy broth, and it will warm up any belly.
I had the Pan Seared Foie Gras to myself, and as always an order is never enough. I appreciate that they didn't unify the whole dish together because to me it's more enjoyable to build each bite than to dismantle to my preference.
For our main course we had the rich, savory Beef Ribs over a carrot mousselin. It was so tender that we barely applied any pressure with a spoon to trim it. To top off our entree off we order a Cream of Spinach and Mash Potatoes which is more like a Puree. I think we could have done without the Spinach for as the whole meal was just too heavy.
We we're too full to order dessert, but they sent out a sorbet for us anyways. Sweet!
Second time I came for their Steak Burger after all the reviews i read. Seriously, wow. It was all that and a bag of chip! My burger was cooked perfectly (med-rare), piled with bacon marmalade, topped with chopped crispy lettuce, and i think sliced tomatoes were up in the mix too.
I find the the additions of onions gave the burger an uncommon sweeter side yet still kept that smokey flavor. Pick it up a few notches by adding their signature Barrymore Sauce (mixture of ketchup and A1 with a little more tang) and you'll be savoring each bite. Don't be shy to dip your fries in the Barrymore Sauce too. It's an all-purpose condiment!
Comes with a basket of herbs fries, a slice of dill pickle. Worth the every penny at $13.5.
I've been quite eager to share my new discovery with my friends. Highly recommend this place to anyone.
