I've played this Mesa City golf course several times and always had a good time. It's a good little test of a course. Some holes test you and make you shape it left to right or right to left. Not a very long course and can usually hit a driver, wedge on most par 4's. Today August 6th I went in and admitted I had a passenger that was just going to ride along with me. There was no one else teeing off within a decent time before or after me. They charged me an $11 rider fee. I can see where if they were busy and had several other tee times around me and/or if I was with another 2-3 players I would have to pay for the seat. But on a slow day, they were more worried about getting an extra $11 rider fee. I will be taking my money and business else where.
