| - Thought I'd try the new Mexican restaurant at Red Rock. I got there and was promptly seated, the server arrived shortly after, and took my order.
I ordered the the Carne Asada street tacos ($16) and a frozen Margherita. A few minutes after they brought tortilla chips and salsa. The chips were very thin and broke when you tried to scoop up some salsa. Most were already broken in the can that they place them in. My Margarita arrived and after one sip I almost spit it out. It tasted as if someone used a full cup of Country Time instant lemonade to make the drink . It was putridly SWEET! I tried to get the servers attention, but the Manager arrived first. I asked if I could have a Heineken instead, and they said ok. A few minutes later the server comes back and says sorry, we don't carry Heineken. REALLY! IN RED ROCK? OK, so I ordered a Pacifico instead. The tacos came at the same time as the beer. There were 3,very small soft tacos with maybe 4 or 5 small cubes of very salty tough beef and very soggy shredded cabbage, placed on a bed of more tortilla chips?? There was a small ramekin of maybe 5 pieces of diced onion and pepper, and another which contained what tasted like Frank's Hot Sauce!
This meal was the most pathetic example of Mexican food that I have ever ate! I should have went to Rubios in the food court for a much better meal, at a third of the price! They could have at least used beef tenderloin and served it with rice and beans. Also they should have doubled up on the tortillas or used something that wasn't as soggy as the cabbage that they used, the tacos literally fell apart when I picked them up.
It's really a shame that Station Casinos can't hit the mark with most of their recent restaurant ventures.
