| - This is being re-posted, as it was removed by Yelp as "not recommended", however, because my experience is the God's truth, I feel that it is important to re-post it to make others aware of the service I received. Isn't that what this venue is about...posting your true experiences? I even removed the Dr's name that I originally posted should that be one of the main reasons Yelp removed it to begin with. WelI...here goes. I'll see how long it takes to have this "edited" comment removed too........I needed a tooth pulled and went to this dentist because it was in a convenient location. They poked my gums (which I never experienced by any dentist before), which hurt like hell to find out how healthy my gums were. Took x-rays and went through the typical routine when it's your first visit at the dentist. Dental assistant was very nice, however, when it came to getting my tooth pulled, the actual "dentist" was either on some kind of medication, or had her mind on other things other than on my tooth that needed to be extracted! First of all, she began numbing the wrong side of my mouth, but since I haven't been to the dentist in a while, I just thought that maybe this was a new technique that dentists used when extracting a tooth to help relieve the pain. However, and thankfully, she appeared to look at my x-rays on the screen and noticed that she was numbing the wrong side of my mouth and nonchalantly says, "Oh, I'm numbing the wrong side." At that point, I started getting a little nervous because it told me that she wasn't paying attention! Secondly, she then numbs the correct side this time, and waits a few minutes and numbs my cheek, and not close to where the tooth that needs to be pulled is at. Again, in my mind I'm telling myself, "Why is she not numbing the area where my tooth is, since that's where I'm going to be feeling the pain when she starts pulling my tooth out??" But, giving her (Dr._____) the benefit of the doubt, I just laid back patiently and let her do her thing. She then says, "Okay, you're going to feel some pressure, but shouldn't feel any pain." Well, to my PAIN AND DISMAY, the moment she started yanking at my tooth, I felt this excruciating pain as if I wasn't given any anesthesia at all! She then asks, "Are you feeling any pain?" Of course, because I had my mouth wide opened I couldn't immediately say, "Hell Yeah, I'm feeling pain, didn't you numb my da** gums like an experienced dentist would have done????" She proceeds to inject my gums twice and waits what appears to be a few seconds then starts yanking again. Again, I start to moan and she then numbs me 2 more times!! She waits a few more seconds and goes at it again until I start to feel as if I'm back in the olden days, when they'd just pull your tooth out with a plier and not be given any kind of pain killer!! I moan again and start wiggling in my seat, and she proceeds to numb me 2 more times....so if you're counting, that's six injections after she attempts to pull my tooth!! However, and unfortunately, there was one other time that I began feeling pain again and she then injected me 2 more times, for a total of 8 doggone and unnecessary times before my tooth was finally extracted!!! I was furious, but tried my best to be calm, as not to cause a scene. She then tells me that she's taking out the infection, which was fine, since that didn't hurt compared to the extraction part. In all honesty, this was the worse experience i had at any dentist that I've been to. While Dr. _____ was nice and comforting, on that specific day, she did not bring her "A" game to work and I thought my head was being pulled, instead of just a single tooth! Again, the staff were great (well, aside from that arrogant male receptionist who thinks that he's smarter than a 5th grader and God's gift to a dental office -- NOT!!). The dental assistants were friendly and helpful. But, unfortunately, my experience that day forced me to seek another dentist, so I won't have to go through that much pain again!! I know this is a long Yelp report, and I don't even write these things, since I feel like it's a waste of time, however, having gone through what I went through had me wanting to vent somewhere that may perhaps help others. I'm not ragging on Dr. _____ as I'm sure she's a nice lady and probably a great dentist majority of the times, but she was not able to display that on that particular day due to not numbing me properly, or maybe she didn't wait long enough for the anesthesia to set it. Whatever the mishap was, I won't ever forget the pain!!
