Let's be honest here...is the pho good?...it's mediocre at best and overpriced. That being said, you do feel safe eating here...so that's worth something and I guess that sense of security makes the pho taste 'good'.
So now let's talk about the waiter...the husband. For description purposes...he's the white guy and not the older Asian guy. I'm assuming that his wife is the one that is cooking in the back since she came out wearing a purple chef's jacket (sign number 1 that this pho is going to be mediocre). This guy thinks he is actually working at some 5-star Michelin French restaurant. He got upset and gave me a stern warning that my 15 month old baby cannot bring outside food to eat in his fancy restaurant and it was pho or pho-get-about-it! I looked around and quickly realized my mistake. I should have known that I stepped into the Taj Mahal from the 80's Coke machine next to the door and his son that was walking around 'working' with Dre Beats headphones around his neck and a Kangol style hat!
So I guess this is review is more of a heads up to others to make sure to dress up and be on your best behavior for this super fancy place! By the way, I heard the wife's purple chef's jacket was a gift from the James Beard Foundation...pho has sure come a long way!
Can you imagine going to Da Vang (a real pho restaurant) and the chef is wearing a colored patterned chef's jacket! Ha! The looks that chef would get from the workers and customers would be epic!
