| - This is the second outpost for Chef Jin Caldwell. More spacious and better decorated than the original spot at the Container Store, the space is beautiful, a chocoholic's dream. It's full of chocolates, pastries, cakes, and drinks.
Cakes by the slice are available and they're a must. The milk chocolate PB&J cake has a subtle peanut butter flavor throughout. Four delicate, rich layers of chocolate cake make up this masterpiece with the peanut butter icing in between. The white chocolate lemon cake is a great alternative if you prefer a lighter, citrusy flavor instead.
Their version of a chocolate croissant is different than most. Here, it's a standard croissant with strips of chocolate across the top. They slice it open and spread more chocolate inside. The quality of the chocolate is outstanding. Not the cheap, waxy stuff you'll find from mass quantities of chocolate bars. This may be an atypical chocolate croissant, but it is one of the best.
I loved the texture of their chocolate chip cookie. Chewy, dense but not too thick with chocolate chips and pecans throughout. The Browkie (their take on a brookie) was good, too. A nice balance of both moist brownie and cookie.
JinJu place isn't cheap, but the price is warranted because the quality of their product is outstanding.
