  • If you are reading this review because you need to go to the dentist, but you're really scared - don't hesitate! Pick up the phone and make an appointment. I called Dr. McAdams' office a few times and would hang up when the receptionist answered. I finally bit the bullet in April (pun totally not intended, but so appropriate!), and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was life changing. Dr. McAdams came up with a two year plan to maximize my dental benefit, and I recently finished up my "first year" round of appointments. By the end of this year, I will have had 2 dental cleanings. I waited far too long because I was absolutely terrified by the potential for judgment, the pain of any procedures, and the expense. 1) Judgement: Dr. McAdams, and every single one of his staff that I have encountered make ZERO judgement about their patient. During my first appointment he mentioned a few times that he works for me, and he was just glad that I came to his office to start getting things taken care of. 2) Pain: This guy is an absolute wizard when it comes to giving numbing shots. They use this vibrating thing that reduces the initial sting, and he also makes you breathe out hard when inserting the needle. Never felt it. Amazing. 3) Expense: Dr. McAdams worked with me to ensure that I would take care of the most critical aspect of my oral health first - removing decay. He went through and prioritized certain sections of my mouth over others, and broke everything down into a two year plan. By this time next year, I should have everything taken care of, and have maximized my dental benefit both years. I do have some hefty out of pocket expenses, but that's mostly due to letting my dental health go for SO LONG. I only blame myself. As I said, if you're looking for that dentist to go to after putting it off for too long, or if you're dealing with dental pain every day because you're too scared to do in, please don't hesitate to call Dr. McAdams office. He and his staff are a wonderful group of people who will put you at ease, and make you wonder why you didn't suck it up and go in sooner.
