I probably have been here for three Boxing Days (the Day after Christmas). Mad sales and bargain shoppings!
I thought Americas were bad with " Day After Christmas " shopping. Canadians are just as ruthless - speed walking into the mall, people grabbing clothes of the rack (while leaving the hanger behind), shoppers opening boxes and not putting the contents back.... Etc...etc...etc.. And the locals here had the greatest advantage over me - they know where all the shops are at. Being a tourist, I found myself searching the mall directory to find my favorite stores - Banana Republic, HMV (this is Canada's version of Virgin Music Store), Roots, and Second Cup (the Seattle's Best of Canada). I have to admit that I make it a point to shop at the Hallmark store here. Hallmark Canada has the most elegant Christmas Cards ever! And for $5.99 for a box at 24 cards, this was a bargain (regular retail $24.99). I know it's the day after Christmas, but when the next Christmas rolled in, I was always received great compliments on my cards. So this was one of best kept secrets that I've just shared! Too bad, I won't be coming here anymore. Thanks for the memories Yorkdale.
