  • For the past year, I've been coming to this location for my haircuts. Every time I'd had a great experience, which is why I kept coming back. I finally felt like I'd found the right place! This past weekend, I called to set up an appointment because I know how booked these guys get during the weekends. On the phone I was asked if I had a preferred stylist. I explained that the last person to cut my hair was a man (there's only one man who works there) and I'd prefer anyone other than him. I was reassured, and went about my day. I arrived 10 minutes early to my appointment, in case they were able to see me early. After checking in, the very person I requested to *not* *cut* *my* *hair* informed me of how busy they were, that I may not be able to be seen that day, and if they could in fact still see me, that the wait would be extensive. He did quickly offer to "knock me out, real quick", and I declined. I was placed in the uncomfortable position of having to tell this person to his face that I did not like the way he cuts hair, and the haste in which he does it. After few short minutes, someone else was able to take my appointment and I did get my hair cut that day by someone else. The problem here seems to be a lack of communication. What's the point of scheduling an appointment if you're not going to be ready for your clients when they arrive? Moreover, why bother asking if I have a preferred stylist if your plan is to thrust the very person I requested not to see in my general direction with a pair of dull clippers? The entire experience was so uncomfortable and awkward, I don't see myself going back. Maybe these aren't the types of things most people care about, but if you're going to run a business, it is my opinion that you should be catering to the customers who are putting food on your table.
