rev:text	My husband and I stayed here for our wedding night, and we could not have been treated any better! The only annoying thing was that we drove through the entry way to go into the hotel twice, and waited there for a valet to come, and ended up going in to the desk and requesting one. They apologized profusely, and honestly that's the only disappointment from our one night stay, our dinner at the Gallery restaurant and our room service the next morning. Because they knew it was a special stay for us, I feel they went above and beyond to treat us like royalty. They upgraded us to an executive king room with 2 marble bathrooms, a living room with a big flat screen tv with French doors opening to the king room with a butlers pantry, and 2 balconies overlooking the 18th tee. Spectacular, indeed! We had a fabulous dinner at the Gallery, service was wonderful, cowboy ribeye and branzino cooked perfectly, whole grain bread and popovers with flavored butters a treat. An amuse bouche of puréed berries, honey and possibly lemon and mint served in a petite white porcelain pitcher started the meal off splendidly. I have to admit the sides were hit and miss. Mashed potatoes were salty, roasted root vegetables were bland, but the mushrooms were excellent. Dessert was graciously presented gratis and consisted of a bread pudding with alcohol soaked golden raisins that were a little strong, and a cherry sorbet I could eat every day. A lovely, intimate atmosphere, and despite the missed opportunities with the sides, let us know that we will be back for future special occasions. Now, the room service the next morning was great. Corned beef hash, western omelette, marble rye, and a hot pot of coffee delivered to your room on a tablecloth covered cart with a red rose. It was delivered and set up quickly and the food was hot. As we left the next morning for our trip to Charleston, we were sad to leave the Ballantyne hotel behind. From the front desk, to the valets, to the guest attendants, to all the staff at the Gallery, thank you for adding to the happiness of our wedding day! You could not have made it any more special for us!
