  • If you are looking to get a more-than-decent used car for a price you could only dream about, this is the place for you. I came here because a friend had recommended it to me after being satisfied with his purchase, and I can honestly say, I was so glad I mentioned my need for a cheap used car to him. My story is similar to that of any used car buyer buying for the first time. You know, the one that teaches you all of the lessons of what not to do when buying a used car? I had purchased a used 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe (way above Kelly Blue Book Value) from a non-reputable shady mechanic in Annandale that literally fell apart a day or two after I drove it off the lot. Unfortunately, the mechanic I bought it from wouldn't hold to his word when it came to fixing it up (not that I trusted him to do so anyway) and I ended up putting an extra $1500 into that baby only to have lost my patience with it over the course of several months. You can see where this situation would make me so skeptical of a place like Velocity Auto Connection. I never would've thought that I could get such a great car for as little as I did while being treated so well at the same time. I had called the number on the business card my friend gave me, which ended up being one of the owner's (Chris) personal numbers. He was incredibly nice and really wanted to help me out. I came in, he inspected my Santa Fe and we made a deal on a trade. I picked out a red 2000 Mazda Protégé. Before the purchase/trade, Andres (I believe he is the co-owner), took me for a test-drive and explained to me every last detail of the car. I was incredibly pleased. The greatest thing about this place is that they are a mechanic, dealer and second-party MVD, which makes all aspects of your purchase incredibly easy. Being that they are actually a dealer, all cars must meet the standards of Arizona and those that don't must be repaired before being put up for sale. So my "new" protégé came equipped with new breaks, tires and timing belt. They had really hooked me up. The positive aspects don't end there. During the process of my trade, I had decided to finance the remainder of the cars value with the help of a credit union back in my hometown in NJ. In one week I was able to do this, which wouldn't have been possible without Chris' help. He made sure to keep up with the bank teller, e-mailing and faxing every bit of information she needed and in turn, he would inform me of how the process was going (too good to be true right?) On top of that, a week after driving the car off the lot I had it looked at by another mechanic to make sure I wasn't being cheated again by another dealer. Several wear-and-tear items needed to be attended to but all-in-all the car got a lot of positive feedback. I brought it back into Chris (who answered the second I called him and told me to come back in right away), and his mechanics, as promised, fixed the issues found with the car without charge (you will have 15 days or 500 miles to do this if the issue was pre-existing). Now the car is back to running great! I can honestly say I have restored my faith in the used-car buying network. And being that this is the dream of the owners at Velocity, I can guarantee anyone who goes here will find the same. Both owners are previous employees of large auto-chains, so they understand the inner-workings of the market. Chris had personally informed me that it was these types of inner-workings that inspired the business, being that he and Andres could not take the indecency of the large companies. They wanted to make costumers feel like they were really being taken care of and not advantage of, and that is definitely what I found here.
