rev:text	PLEASE DO NOT EXPOSE YOURSELF OR ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT TO THIS SLIMY PRACTICE. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MULTIPLE VISITS TO BILL FOR AND CARE NOTHING FOR THE WELLBEING OF THEIR PATIENTS My experience with this office has been the worst I have ever had with any office-ever! I have new insurance and my usual internal medicine practice was no longer on my plan so I looked for another provider near my work to transfer my care. I have had long relationships with providers in the past without problems. I am a healthy person on one medication for high cholesterol and stable for the past 10 yrs. My first appt there was just to establish as a new patient and to get a refill on my cholesterol med that I had run out of a few weeks earlier. The person I saw was flat, cold and uninterested but that was fine because I really didn't need much. She gave me lab orders for fasting lipids and 2 months of my med to get my cholesterol checked and F/U for my well woman exam. On check out, the clerk said I owed $170. I explained that my copay is $25 and they told me I would have to pay the whole amount right then. I didn't because I know it was in error. I explained that there was a mistake, I would pay the $25 copay now and Monday morning I would call the insurance and work it out. They were VERY rude, condescending and unhelpful. I ended up not paying them anything and I called my insurance Monday, got the problem fixed and took my $25 copay in right away. They did not apologize and were nasty even though they were wrong. I decided to give them another chance because anyone can have a bad day or a single issue and it was really convenient near my work. I restarted the medication and had my fasting labs drawn and had the results faxed to their office as directed. I scheduled an appointment on May 18th which was the soonest I cold get in. On May 3, I noticed I had only a few cholesterol pills left and my appointment wasn't until May 18 so I requested a refill so I would not run out before my appointment that was already scheduled and it was "denied" even though they had my fasting blood work results and knew of my appointment scheduled in less than 3 weeks. I was unable to reach anyone by phone so I stopped in the office to ask for a 1 month refill on my cholesterol medication until my appt and the front office was rude, condescending and said they would "talk to the doctor". I couldn't imagine giving a 1 month refill until my appt would be a problem but IT WAS- I got a message a couple hours later letting me know that "the doctor would not be refilling my prescription without an appt first". It is not good to stop and start cholesterol medication for no reason. This office, doctor and provider staff here DO NOT CARE ABOUT PATIENT WELLBEING OR CONVIENIENCE AND ARE COMPLETELY FIXATED ON GENERATING MULTIPLE VISITS AS THE NUMBER ONE PRIORITY. I am going to file a complaint with the BBB and with the Arizona Medical Board for putting money ahead of patient care unnecessarily. This is an unethical practice and does not operate in the best interest of patients. They are an embarrassment to medical practices that do operate within ethical and reasonable parameters. I have already found a much better practice that will see me for my well woman exam and refill one medication at the same time. I plan to ask the Attorney Generals Office to investigate their billing practices too. Lets see what we find..
