  • My experience with Pruitts has been an ongoing frustration. I was pregnant so I bought an electronic recliner so I could rock my baby and have smooth reclining or sitting up so it wouldn't wake my child and my hands would be more free. I purchased the warranty to protect my chair. Soon after my baby was born the chair broke and I contacted Pruitts to come repair it. I thought they would do it right away but that DID NOT happen. The repairman came out after many weeks since he was booked up and then said he had to order a part when he finally came. The part then took about one month to come in and it turned out they ordered the wrong part. Of course they did not notify me. I contacted them to ask about the delay. They said they would reorder the correct part and rush it. Over a month later I had not heard back so I again called. They said they would look into the order and get back to me. Nobody did. A couple weeks later I called back and was pretty annoyed since I had a broken recliner in my living room now over three months and my baby was pretty much past the major phase I needed the chair. They informed me the part was still not there. After I became frustrated and started demanding action they said I could come get a different chair because they did not have the same one as mine in stock. I went down and got a new beige chair. I thought the issue was resolved until they delivered it and it was the wrong color. I told the delivery guy it was incorrect and he said there was nothing he could do and I needed to sign for the chair. I did after writing next to it- wrong color delivered. The next day I called Pruitts and they wanted me to send them a picture of the chair to confirm the wrong color was delivered. I sent them the picture, as well as the picture of the chair I picked in the store. They are very different colors. The girl then called back and said they could be the same color since light can sometimes make the chair look different. She asked that I then take a picture of some tag under the chair. I did that and have not yet heard back. I will include the pictures so you can see how laughable it is that these colors might be the same. I would not waste your time on a warranty since it has been about four months without proper resolution. Had I known there was no timeframe on how long they can take to fix it, I would have not purchased it. The whole reason I bought this chair was for my baby and I spent a large chunk of time without a working rocker for her. I will not buy from them again. I now have a blue grey recliner that matches nothing in my home. Unfortunately, I am so tired of calling them and chasing them down and spending my time on this that I will likely just accept I am stuck with it. They seem to think they are doing me a favor by providing help with this 70 dollar warranty I bought. 400 dollars later total-- this is what i have to show for it. A chair i dont want.Thanks Pruitts! 400 dollars would have gotten me a better chair and better service somewhere else. ***update- the head manager called and said these are the same colors. Since I am clearly in the twilight zone I requested a full refund. He agreed to do it. What a frustrating waste of time. I have never had to argue and try to prove that two very different colors are in fact different.
