| - Finally got around to checking it out and I'm hooked!
Very similar to Cardenas and though prices are higher than El Super on produce, I like their lively atmosphere so much better than morgue like feeling of El Super, so I don't mind paying a little more.
Plus, they have a much more extensive selection of produce, just snagged some Indian eggplant- don't recall last time I've seen those in a market, can't wait to make dinner!
Prices on poultry are really good as well, everything from chicken breast to ground chicken, love that they have boneless skinless leg meat at just $1.19/lb.
I just wish it was a one stop shop, but I can't get all the meats I need there, sadly. Still have to make another stop for hot Italian sausage :/
I like to shop early to beat crowds, and love that at 8 am I have the meat counter to myself with zero wait.
At 2pm today- different story. I took a number and was 23rd while they were serving 9th. But that's cool- there are a lot of employees and by the time I got done in produce aisle, my meat counter number was up.
Major difference from Cardenas- if you shop around 2, pack a lunch, that's how long you'll wait in line. Not here- zero wait every time at check out, love that!
