| - I had previously reviewed Bachi Burger and given them two stars because of very inattentive service and average food that was overpriced. I went back with a friend and gave them another chance. Unfortunately it was more of the same.
It was Saturday night around 8 PM and they were not busy -- about 12 other people there in a place that seats at least 4x that amount. We were seated immediately and given water. The waiter came back and got us some sodas. Last time I had the cherry yuzu, this time I got the apple lychee. Both are good, but at almost $4 and no refills, tell them to go light on the ice.
When we were ready to order I had to flag down the waiter. Eventually someone serving other tables came over and took our order. He did not write any of it down and the entire time I'm thinking "really?" Sure enough, at the end we asked him to repeat it back to us and he got part of it wrong. Is it some ego thing or what? The guy has no idea what we are ordering or how much, won't write it down, and messes up an order of two burgers and two orders of fries.
My burger was overcooked but no big deal. Anyway the food is fine (nothing amazing), but it still feels way overpriced. I had indicated we'd be ordering dessert towards the end of the meal but after the initial checkup a minute or two after getting the food, the waiter never voluntarily came over to our table for the remainder of the night. Note that there were at least 3 waiters for fewer than 20 people in the place the entire night.
We flagged down a waiter and eventually got the Portuguese donuts dessert. What was described by the waiter as "a good amount of ice cream" ended up being one scoop, and we had to ask for extra dishes because none were brought out so we could split it up. After finishing we had to, once again, flag down a waiter to get the check and, not surprisingly, flag down a waiter to get him to pick it up again.
All in all, the food is OK, and I might go there regularly if the food was 2/3 of the price and the service was decent.
