  • Booked a room here from great reviews posted on yelp. We were greated by a very friendly and chatty Andrew. We rolled into the hotel about 4:30pm and our room was not ready so we decided to go to the hotel bar for a drink while we waited. The property is very expansive and the minimal directions we were given by another receptionist were not helpful. It took us several minutes walking in 107 degree sun to find the bar. Happy hour prices were very good. We met and chatted with a local couple who come there frequently for happy hour. The bartender was not very attentive (too busy broom sweeping) and another worker in the bar who was passing by asked how we were doing, and we told him we had not been served yet. He very quickly got us our drinks and chatted with us as well. When we returned to check in, we were given a map since the property is auite expansive, with elevators scattered here and there as well as stairs. This property is all open air and the AZ sun is not kind or forgiving. Be prepared for LOTS of walking to get to anywhere. The property is aging and not kept up very well. Our room smelled musty. But to our delight we had been upgraded to a premium suite, complete with all kinds of snacks and soft drinks and bottled water. Happy hour that the hotel has was great. (Not to be confused with the restaurant ) Lots of good appetizers that we made a meal of, and drinks were plentiful. Breakfast was wonderful as well. TONS of food, but my made to order omelet, was not what I ordered at all, getting only a couple of the ingredients correct. but I didn't go away hungry, since they seem to have thought of every possible breakfast option. The four star rating is for the aging property upkeep and musty room smell. Andrew and a couple other employees get 5
