Finally visited Cure a few months ago and thought I would share my experience. My wife and I sat at the bar and enjoyed the bartender conversation and cocktail approach very much. Drinks are a bit pricey and on the small side, and my other comment is not having a large ice cube in the cocktail - but I do understand some craftsman bartenders being purist in that respect and not wanted to "water down" the drink after mixing.
On to the food. It is clear Justin Severino is a very accomplished chef as his technique and execution is spot on. I cannot complain about the components on the plate, only the composition of the plate itself. Every dish we tasted seemed confusing and not harmonious. Balance was there (acid, salt, sweet, etc...) but the combinations of flavors and ingredients did not leave me wanting more. Nothing was a marriage on the plate - just an interesting display of technique.
Would I return? Yes, but only if I was in the mood to try some different flavor combinations. I don't think this is a restaurant where you leave and say, "wow, that was so satisfying and delicious". I would guess most leave and say "that was interesting"
