| - I really wanted to like this place but my experience was rocky right from the start. I called in an order for dinner and when I said the last item, the phone hung up. I called back and he said, "I thought you were finished". I said well, I thought you would have told me the price, when it would be ready, take my name or least thank you/good bye. Dead silence. Ok, strike one.
When I go pick up the food, I knew it was the same person on the phone because of lack of customer service skills. I can overlook poor customer service if you're food is on point. However, this was not the case so Strike two.
The food was not the worse and not the best...just mediocre. The best part was the peas and rice...good flavor, just needed some salt and was not dry. I had the Brown Stew Chicken which was disappointing. The chicken pieces were small (literally) however, I anticipated that, which is why I ordered a large. What I received was a thigh cut in half and a leg-thigh quarter. The chicken was cooked ok; not moist but not dry either but the seasoning was lacking. You get a side of cabbage which was ok. I love plantains and there's was cooked perfect. I also had a Meat Patty which had a dry tasteless pastry crust but the filling was yummy. Strike three and unfortunately I don't think I will be going back but I still think the restaurant deserves no less than three stars.
