Kawa has such a weird nightlife ambiance that I can't seem to put my finger on. Both times I've gone there was either a dj or a live band playing. Personally, I think the linear space doesn't really strike me as a place to have such performances. The right side of the shop where they have dj's and performer's playing seemed a little small and limited to those that came to enjoy, while the left side somewhat allows people to escape the noise created from the left side.
Kawa also serves wine and beer and keeps a tab running for people. It is a convinient place to get some work done pre-night crowd and have a pint to have during date-conversation. Or if you're willing to meet some laid back folks, just turn around and chat with the person behind you.
