There are many things to enjoy at Floyd Lamb but if your expecting playground equipment, this isn't the spot for you. If you looking for something unique for an afternoon out of the house with your little ones, I highly suggest it. I've been bringing my daughter here for years and she still looks forward to chasing bunnies, going peacock feathers hunting, and eating mulberries off the tree.
All those things being said I didn't leave 5 stars because there always seems to be some type of confusion at the pay booth. My husband is a Veterian and so we were told that in his car with a Veterian license plate we didn't have to pay the $6 entrance fee. A few days later I was told that was incorrect and that I needed to show an ID to prove it.......like the DMV didn't check that before they handed over the license plate.
Two years ago I went to renew my yearly pass and was told that I would have to buy a "family" pass (+$25) next year if my husband and I wanted to share a pass. I never heard about that again but you get the point.
+ Bathrooms are always clean
+ Park closes at dark and a ranger will write you a ticket if he catches you there past then
+ Saturdays and Sundays are a mad house. I suggest weekdays and afternoons
+ Lots and lots of duck poop. Don't wear flip flops lol. You'll instantly regret it!
