| - I'm not well versed in art or art history but I do like art a lot, particularly photos, oil paintings, statues, etc. I came on a Wednesday with my mother to take advantage of free admission and we both enjoyed our visit. Personally, I prefer art museums to history ones, so I might be slightly biased in that regard.
I liked all of the exhibits, but of course some more than others. In particular I liked the paintings on canvas. The paintings themselves were great but I also thought that the framing was done quite nicely too. The area where the canvas paintings were put was arranged nicely and spaced well enough so that a lot of people could look at a large amount of paintings while still having some personal space.
The AGO is a good size; its not difficult to see everything in a couple of hours. There's a good range of exhibits and range of types of different art, so there is definitely something for everyone here. I often hear of many special exhibits that sound extremely interesting (like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Ai Weiwei, David Bowie, etc) but unfortunately I have yet to go see one. In the future though, I'm definitely going to revisit the AGO again periodically and hopefully be able to see a special exhibit then.
