Went to a wedding here and I have never seen such a poorly orchestrated event ever! There wasn't a banquet manager present to conduct traffic so to speak; the receiving line was jammed around the buffet section which was causing chaos. Second matter was that once you gave your salutations to the newlyweds, most of the guests were trickling into the main ballroom which was NOT ready to receive guests. The ceremony was at 7 pm and the room wasn't ready and it was 8 pm at that point which mean very hungry people! Unreal! On top of that the catering staff were trying there best to finish off the room (put chair coverings on, bring out more chairs) all the while guests were crowding into the room. It was an absolute nightmare. I don't understand why the manager in charge (if there was one??) didn't politely ask the guests to vacate the room and enjoy a cocktail with the bridal couple. Very poorly managed in my opinion.
To further add to the chaos, the couple decided NOT to do a seating arrangement so it made for a first come, first serve situation. This wasn't pretty either. I have a family of 5 people and there wasn't a table to be found where we could sit all together which completely infuriated my husband and rightfully so. I ended up taking charge and demanding that they set up chairs in what was supposed to be the children's room. It was freezing cold in there but we didn't care at that point. My husband was so angry at this point that he wanted to just go home.
Then there was the buffet....no rhyme or reason with how that flowed. Complete and utter chaos of 140 people going in every direction imaginable. Food was decent but not hot or ready after the ceremony! People ended up eating around 9 pm after all was said and done. Again, extremely disorganized which can only be the fault of management. Never again which is sad because this venue is literally in my backyard.
