My fiance and I purchased a NEW, not refurbished, washer and dryer in April. It is a whirlpool cabrio high efficiency set. Let me be the first to say I hate these high efficiency appliances. Every time I run the washer, I am pulling dry, dirty clothes from the machine. When I called Sears to inquire about how to return/exchange for a different set, I am told that I am not using the machine properly. I am told that I am pulling out dry clothes due to how fast the machine spins-it gets out that much water. NO. I am pulling out dry, dirty clothes that have not even been touched by water. I have read and reread the manual for this machine, and nothing I have tried differently has given me a different result. I am so frustrated with this machine and the NON service I have gotten from Sears--because of course they have told me they won't take it back. I'm here to tell you--DO NOT buy a high efficiency machine. It's not very efficient to have to do your load of laundry 2 and 3 times because it doesn't clean the clothes. And lastly, DO NOT buy from Sears. I'm quite sure there are other stores out there that are price competitive and are interested in keeping their customers happy and returning to make more purchases. I will not be returning to Sears.
This is an update-add on review. I am pleased to say that Sears made right on this wrong. I was contacted by their district manager to address this issue. He was empathetic and easily remedied this situation by exchanging my washer with a new one of my choice. Julie is the store manager, and she too was empathetic and more than happy to walk me thru the usage of my new washer. I am happy with this outcome!
