We tried the omakase due to an article we read in a magazine touting the superb experience. For a 300$+ meal, I expected to be somewhat above average. The food was decent but not really at that price point they charged. The nigiri that was served was really thin.... also the risotto could have either used a bit more rice or cooked longer. A soupy risotto shows the lack of attention. We did enjoy the first course of the crab and uni combo on top of a tempura seaweed the best! One thing that really caught me off guard was when the waitress mentioned that to get a refill on the green tea, there's an additional charge. Whatttt.... ok? Never have I ever been charged for green tea refill...anywhere...even in Japan!....so that made me feel like I was really being nickeled and dimed especially paying for a Japanese meal experience that is on the expensive side. Granted when the bill came, they did not charge us for the tea. Nevertheless, being told that they are going to... really puts me in a bad mood. If the food didn't stand out in my mind and the service did(not in an amazing way), I would suggest that this shouldn't be a place you go for omakase.
