  • So I adopted a cat 5 years ago. She was sweet in the shelter but once we got home I found she wanted very little of me around. She was one of those cats that only allows you 3 pets before taking a swipe and never, ever comes to lay on your lap or rub your leg. Frankly I was feeling a little betrayed.... Fast forward to 6 months ago, my Husband and I adopted a 6 month old kitten. We took the appropriate precautions with introducing him and all was well for awhile. Suddenly, she started eliminating in non litter box areas. We took her in to be seen by Dr. Morse. He identified she had a bladder infection. I saw how much care he took with her and decided to explain to Dr. Morse that she had always had a difficult personality and I just wasn't sure what else I could do to make her feel safe while keeping our other cat. He suggested that she may have been spayed in a bad part of her hormone cycle and prescribed a very small hormonal pill to be taken for 3 weeks. She had her good days and bad days and after three weeks I just held my breath expecting her to turn mean again but no, it has now been three months and Dr. Morse has given me a new cat. Occasionally she'll get cranky still but the VAST majority of the time she is even tempered and *gasp* affectionate!! I'm so grateful for Dr. Morse and all the help he gave us, he has helped us immensely!
