rev:text	I don't know why this place gets a bad rap, I was totally pleased with my stay here (though the dumb resort fee pisses me off no matter what). We stayed at the end of january for monday-friday. It must have been a slow time because we waited for only a few minutes to check in & had no problems. Ours was a standard room in tower 1 (the old tower i guess), but the room was clean & nice, not stinky. Not fancy, but good enough for me. If someone is a snoot and going to complain about chips on the door or rattling bathroom fan, then sure they'll hate this place, but if you are a normal person who lives with minor imperfections on a daily basis, you'll be just fine. We were on the 20th floor and the wifi worked just fine. I even brought my laptop & ethernet cord in preparation for having no wifi based on others' reviews, but was pleasantly surprised.(atleast that resort fee was for something i guess). We did a late check out option for $28 meaning we could wait to check out until 3pm. Very useful. I actually like the cheesy "outdated" casino, I find it cozier and more homey than the huge richy rich pretentious places. The foodcourt & walkways between the excaliber & neighboring casinos(luxor &NYNY) were really nifty and had good(though conspicuously overpriced) food options if you just need to grab something quick. The "fun dungeon" is a cute little arcade downstairs that is a fun diversion from the adult activities, it's only open til 10pm or so though. I would totally stay here again and actually preferred it over the Luxor which we stayed at last year, though the luxor's room was just a teensy bit nicer.
