BUYER BEWARE. This company employs fraudulent and extremely deceptive marketing practices and does not honor refunds. We lost over $1000 to this shady "hospitality" company when we booked through Expedia. Customer service is absolutely horrible and totally useless, so don't bother with that route.
It appears they are selling rooms at hotels and simply marking them up to skim a profit off your transaction as some sort of middleman. When you book a room via Expedia, the customer is led to believe you are booking a room through the hotel... but you're not. It's through this shadowy "Airpads", not a licensed hotelier. Which means you do not have the same oversight and consumer protections that hotels must adhere to (like refunds!).
Looks like just another shallow, soulless "start up" claiming to make a living off the "sharing economy" ala Uber. But they are not even offering a service, just skimming off a transaction. I believe this could be defined as fraud as they are skirting consumer protections, and I'd be surprised if a class action suit isn't filed soon against these deceptive practices.
Edit: OMG! The only 5 star Yelp review here is "Anthony L".... who is Airpads CEO!! #shameful #deceptive
