I just had to give this place the 5 stars....because I love that Chilean sea bass!!!!! Like I would go to bed with that bass and day dream all day! So yummy and quite delicious and just hot off the press. It really looked beautiful in white and sitting atop some spinach and then settled in like an island in a puddle of light soy sauce broth - Hong Kong style. The last time I had it in this version was meh. So this days chef was on point. I haven't had a really good Chilean sea bass in awhile. So when I do have one, you guys need to know what I'm talking about. It is listed as MKT price FYI. I was able to slice the sea bass with my knife in one motion and each cut came out Mr. Clean!
I did utilize a pair of chopsticks ...I mean why not. A delicate fish handled well. Everything was gone on that plate except for the ginger pieces.
The competitor: the Alaskan sable fish. This one was just as fantastic..more firm with a nice miso glaze. Shitake mushrooms and snap peas meddled into the affair - sweet and savory together.
Well not to discount the other things I had, but the Judith Point calamari was I guess also on point! Ha! Kung pao style made it a bit spicy for me, but I'm weak sauce. But great texture and not chewy at all!
A half dozen mix of west coast oysters will have you cry at $4 a piece. But what can I say - it's brine time. Still yummy!
And last but not least, butterscotch Panama cotta. I was wanting something chocolate-y, but I opted for something out of the ordinary. It came with biscotti, which made it look pretty but I found it to be unnecessary and not as complementing to the dessert. Maybe because it was in the "stale" stage. But the creaminess of the dessert and the caramel mounted on top did its job. I continued to eat most of it....as usual! Sigh!
Well, until then I'll just dream. But you should def try their fish options!
