First and foremost this review is not to Dr. Christopher Litchenwalter.. My husband was a patient of Dr. L. up until today and thinks very highly of him. Bedside manner is an excellent quality of Dr. L. Unfortunately due to his staff we will no longer be his patient. First when making an appt with his staff a few months back they scheduled us for a 7am appt for one of his locations only to find out that location didn't open til 8am. 2nd after a stent was put in by Litchenwalter we had a follow up with another member of his staff because he wasn't available at the location closest to us. No problem. The lady we saw was really quite "out of the loop" he had just had his procedure the week prior and she had his chart with his info yet still became upset because we didn't remember 2 of the new meds Litchenwalter had prescribed for him. I asked if it was noted in the chart since he wrote the Rx. Her response was its your job to know. Rude..Hmm okay we get it, we should know, but he did Rx it so it should also be written down right? I mean I'm pretty sure he just doesnt prescribe meds and not document it. 3rd the lady then said she would like to put a Holter on him because Litchenwalter requested it but then after taking the "survey" Qs&As about how he felt told us we were in the clear to leave. (Even when my hubby told her the chest pain was still there) I asked so that's all and she followed us out to the front desk and told the girl we were ok to leave. Now present time. Hubby needed his Rx refilled.. Pharmacy said they were denied. So I called cardio office and was told it was because he failed to get the holter done so his meds were not gonna be renewed. Ok. But we asked the girl at the desk at the time of that last appt if we needed to make any more appointments and the PA and the girl said "No we are ok to leave".... So ok another inconsistency.. No problem. We made the appt and the lady refilled for 1month the Rx we needed. (Very nice of her) My husband is in construction. He gives his job 2 weeks notice for his appointments so he can take time off. We made the appointments for Tuesday for the monitor and Thursday for the follow-up. Monday at noon the day before his appointment we got a call and was told the times just wasn't gonna work for them.. Really 1 day before his appt? So we rescheduled for the holter on Thursday and follow up on Monday... Monday morning now. Got a call from some very rude lady from their office. Was told since the holter monitor wasnt returned we can't have his appointment today. I asked her why? Since we were told we could bring back the holter today. She then got really sarcastic and replied "I wasnt told that" uhm first of all this person was not in the room when we had the appointment. Last I checked it was me and the hubby and the nurse who hooked it up on him.(so unless you were the nurse you shouldn't be calling anyone or assuming or implying one is a liar. Mind you this office scheduled us at 7am at a location that didnt open til 8am) I then told her this was not the first time they have called to reschedule and cancel his appointment at the last minute and we have been very accommodating and it was unacceptable because he has to take time off of work and loses pay. I asked to speak to an office manager or someone in charge and was put on hold. After being on hold for a few minutes the lady picked back up the phone and said "he can keep his appointment but he won't get his results. It depends on how late the IT guy is here and if he can fix it?" Fix what? What's the real story? I asked her if she was the office manager or the same girl I was first talking too... She said the same girl and I then asked her why was I still speaking with her if I asked to speak with someone in charge.. I was then transferred to the sound of a dial tone. Called back again. Spoke with someone else and again was transferred to a dial tone. Tried 1 more time and the same... Called for the 4th and last time told the person on the line who I was, why I was calling and told them how I keep getting disconnected when asked to speak with a supervisor and that my husband will be there at his appt time to return the holter and we will be finding a new cardiologist. Their response "ok".. So we will not be doing business with them anymore. If that's how they treat their patients then fine. We will find someone else that can keep their side of their appointments and have a staff that has their "stuff" together. Not hang up on them when they want to make a complaint about incompetent staff. Yes I said incompetent because everything with the staff has always been boiled down to "No we didnt say that? Who said that?"Calling and cancelling appointments or rescheduling a day before or the day of is unacceptable. We understand in some cases emergencies come up... But this is definitely not the case its a pattern.. Incompetent staff is to blame.
