  • I have gone to Mirage Hair Company, an AVEDA salon, since about 2007. I LOVE Mirage! I used to go to a "big name," large AVEDA salon on Mill in Tempe, AZ, but sometimes found the attitude within that other salon to be "stuffy" and uncomfortable. I also found that stylists come and go quite often from that salon and I was often seeing a new stylist, sometimes from visit to visit. That got old. So, I switched to Mirage Hair Company and have been consistently thrilled! It's a smaller, more personal salon---much like a boutique salon where you get personal service, everyone in the salon knows you by name, and they genuinely care. There is definitely something to be said for the small-business, honest concern that Mirage has for its customers. Every time I go, I feel like Penny (owner) and her team are genuinely happy to see me and look forward to providing me with a high quality service. Beyond just feeling welcome, the main reason to go is for a great cut/color, right? Without question, I ALWAYS get a beautiful haircut and superb color (highlights/lowlights for me) every visit. Penny (owner) is my stylist; however, I see what the other stylists do for the clients who are in the salon when I am...and I'm always amazed at how great the color and cuts are for those clients, too. They care a lot about their clients' looks and Penny always ensures that every customer that walks into the salon leaves happy. One thing I've noticed that really sticks out to me (especially after watching "Tabitha's Takeover" show on cable TV), is that Penny ensures her stylists consistently get ongoing professional development. She encourages that a lot---and it shows in the quality of work both she and they do. The salon is also always kept very clean and sanitary---a big plus in my "almost a germophobe" book! Mirage truly takes good care of me and makes me feel like family. I have lived several places around the country and have been to at least 8-9 salons in the process. By FAR, this salon has been my favorite---for high quality cut/color, service, and for the extra warm touches they add to your experience.
