After attempting to dine at several trendy restaurants on a recent Saturday in the Monroe St. area, I found Pasquale's to be the only nearby option with a number of open tables. After ordering menu items which took no longer than 15 minutes to arrive hot at the table, I was still waiting after 30. The waiter said the eight top behind us had just placed their order. Great. About 10 minutes later, my bowl of chili verde arrived. Not sure if the "medium warm" temperature was due to microwaved reheat or just left out too long.
No matter, there was no turning back. The chili was really more of a soup, and for $6.95, I was expecting something more than a fairly generic broth-based spicy chicken and bean soup. Luckily, there are other options for Mexican.
