  • I know it's public transportation, but who doesn't like a Monorail, and I'm sure most of the time it runs fine, but I have a couple of things that did not make it what we would call enjoyable: First, accessing it from where we were located was not intuitive, signs were not very descriptive, or easy to follow, luckily after a couple of failed attempts, and going the wrong way we finally found the right way, but no thanks to any of the signage. Maybe it was the stop we were at, but when I was in Tokyo Japan, that System was fine tuned, never got lost knew exactly where everything was. Second, after paying $5 per person, and getting on the Monorail, we were informed there were some mechanical issues, at one point the monorail was delayed before pulling out of the station, which a station attendant went from car to car notifying everyone. Once it left that station, the Monorail stopped mid-trip between stations, dangling us out there for a couple of minutes, but slowly got to the next station. The doors opened, and we continued to wait, with the only automated voice over the intercom, stating a train comes every 7 minutes. Now at this point we could have exited the train and got off at that station, but we were about 5 miles away from our Hotel and we walked all day, and being it was around 9 PM, we were hopeful. After 10 minutes of waiting with not an employee in site, the train began moving again, finally at the next station, with still two more stops to go, the train opened its doors, and an automated voice came over the intercom stating there was a problem with the Monorail, and it was no longer in operation, please exit the train. So we did, but there were no technicians around, nor was there any refund, or voucher issued for the incomplete ride. Oh well, guess that's why a lot of cities no longer have monorails.
