I do not like to take to social media to voice a complaint but it seems its only in a knee jerk reaction will a company act on. On my daughters 1st birthday last month, I took her into the ER at 2:30am for a fever and respiratory distress. She was obviously not doing well by the constant coughing, croupy caugh, belly breathing, choking on her bottles to the point of vomiting and a cry that was weak at best. I didn't wait too long to be seen as I was the only one there. I had a PA come in to perform an assessment. After an exam that took all of 30 seconds she stated that my daughter has a cold and she'll get over it. She had the respiratory therapist come in and bulb suction her nose. And that's where her treatment ended. I asked for some breathing treatments perhaps an x-ray so we can rule out pneumonia and I was answered with no that's not necessary, "she'll be fine...its viral." While the RT was in suctioning my daughter's nose she began to cough and said that is a croupy cough. I asked her to ask the PA to reconsider at least a breathing treatment but nothing. After leaving there in no better shape than my daughter started with we went home for 30 minutes before her breathing got even worse. Now her saturation level went down to 87. She was then taken to Phoenix Children's Hospital where she was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia and intubated. Now I can understand a misdiagnosis due to a poor rushed assessment, but the Bill I just received for $600 for their services and it Burns me. If you guys are going to charge an arm and a leg for your services then at least do a complete assessment with follow-through. Dont roll the dice with your little ones health here, take them to phoenix children's instead where they actually perform their job descriptions.
