| - I am officially DONE with Groupon! Many of us buy them forgetting that there are expiration dates, many of the businesses are in the process of going out of business, etc. I wanted to try some different salons to select my favorite and closest to where we moved in Ballantyne. I was told by the owner that only a couple of her stylists would accept the Groupon and gave me a date a few weeks out for the condition/shamp/blowout deal. She seemed to have all the time in the world to chat & it was difficult to get her off the phone (she is also a stylist). I needed to run so I took the date which no longer works for me, and the coupon expires April 17th. I called the salon today, 3/12/15 (a Saturday mid-afternoon). The phone rang at least 20 times - NO ANSWER. I double checked the number on the certificate (I'd gotten it right) and again 20-plus rings, no answer. Five times of this, I gave up and tried calling Groupon. Got a recording saying there was a one hour wait. My husband called from his phone and heard there was a THREE HOUR WAIT for a Groupon rep. I tried sending a support message from their website, and after writing an explanation hit the send button - repeatedly. It never budged, I have had Groupon on hold w/speaker phone in case anyone picks up. I am SO OVER Groupon, they are not worth the measly $10 or $20 you save and jack up the value of Groupon goods to make it look as though you're getting a better deal than you are. I am so P.O.'d with them and that Armis Salon. Just try to get a refund from Groupon these days, they have a whole new set of rules and many of their businesses are just trying to get in a few extra bucks before closing their doors. As for Armis Salon, I believe we'll be driving in that direction today and will check to see if they are still open.
