| - I really like this place. Went with some girlfriends on a Sunday night, which features half-price Arizona wines. Our waiter gave us a great recommendation that turned us into AZ wine lovers. We started out sharing the deviled eggs, Brussels sprouts with bacon, and the sausage and grits. Flavors were really good. I could eat that sausage and grits for a meal, though it was just a tad too "soupy" this particular night.
After filling up on wine and appies, my friend and I split the burger and the vegetable chop salad. This burger is exceptional! Chopped bacon flecks throughout the beef, perfectly medium, Caramelized onions, soft egg bun. Delicious! The chopped veg salad was the perfect, light counterpoint to that decadent burger. Our other friend had the short ribs, which she loved. It was a large serving; she couldn't finish it.
As if that weren't enough, we dove into dessert with enthusiasm. Not sure why but I wanted to try the pecan fig pie. I usually only have pie at the holidays but I was curious. Oh my! Yes, it was sweet, but not cloyingly so. The figs provided a nice, chewy twist.. But the best part was a bite of that pie with the accompanying cream cheese lemon zest ice cream. It's the perfect sweet/tart mouthful, you absolutely must try it!
Kudos to our waiter, who struck exactly the right chord with gracious service, helpful advice, and a truly pleasant demeanor.
I will be back!
