This place is a real gem! I had the catfish, which was a bit too salty, but delicious (hey, it's soul food after all). The cornbread was the best I've ever had.
The service was prompt and very friendly, as was the rest of the crowd. As a transracial family with an adopted son from Haiti, we weren't sure what kind of reception we would receive in a soul food restaurant. It was not an issue. We felt very welcomed, and EllaEm's does a great job of demonstrating pride in their heritage.
It was a great experience overall, and we will definitely be back!
