| - I had a root canal done on a tooth with a crown at an endodontist's office and I was told to make an appointment with a dentist to have the crown permanently cemented on since they only put temp cement. They also made a hole in the back of the crown which needed to be filled. Since Mountain Dental is just a mile from my house, I decided to book my appointment with them. I explained the whole situation to them and even told them the tooth number to be worked on.
A few days later I went in for my appointment, but just the night before, an older crown of mine fell off, so I brought it with me so they could cement that as well. When I arrived, I explained that I needed that crown cemented on and they said it was fine. There wasn't any wait at all and I was in the x-ray chair within 3 minutes of arriving. They took my x-rays, then had me wait about 10 minutes. The assistant came back and moved me to the operating room and I had to wait another 25 minutes. I thought I was there to just get stuff cemented on! I wasn't there for any type of filling or surgery, but for some reason they took forever.
The dentist finally came in. Took a look at my x-rays and started talking about other work that needed to be done, which I didn't care about since I was only there for my crowns to be cemented. He took a long time talking about every little thing, which would've been fine if he was even my regular dentist, but he wasn't. Then he seemed to only care about the crown that fell off, even though my appointment was for the tooth with the temp cement and hole in it! I kept on reminding him about that and he kept saying he'd take a look, WHICH HE NEVER DID. At one point he said, "I'll take a look because I really don't want that falling out while you're sleeping or out in public," but still...he never even looked at it. Instead, he just cemented on the crown that fell off, which I'm happy about, but WTF the main thing I booked my appointment for was completely ignored. I think it's pretty important to take care of a crown with temporary cement that has a HOLE in the back which can easily start decaying or something, but apparently they didn't. I was really annoyed at the way they just ignored it even though I kept telling them about it. I don't know what the deal was, that would've been more money for them anyway.
I've definitely experienced better at many other dental offices (and I've been to A LOT). The staff here is a little mixed. There were only 2 people that actually smiled and talked to me, but the others just looked like they wanted to jump off a cliff or something. The waiting time within the office was just ridiculous considering I was just getting a crown cemented and they didn't even do both. I was in there for over an hour. My mom was reading a magazine waiting for me when I got out and her appointment was at the same time as mine, but she went in for fillings! On top of that, they just completely ignored my main concern.
I don't care that this place is just a mile from my house. I'll travel 15 miles just for better service if I have to.
