| - Bucolic, warm, and aptly-staffed by plucky folk who take account of the minor details (e.g. they even provide bug spray out back!) Forest City is one enchanted brewery. Hobbit-hole esque, one might say. Unassuming from the front, but loaded with old world wonder. Apart from the vintage accouterment (the dog-eared copy of Catcher in the Rye on the far shelf and the dusty oversized Ballantine bottles), one aesthetic star of the show is the big backyard with enough chairs to suit Ionesco, all of which are exquisitely comfy and ideal for crepuscular languishing. For those with more of that giggly midnight inertia, there's a twee-nostalgic dance floor (are we inventing genres, dear reader?) complete, oh yes, with a roaring 20's touring car in one corner (because why not?), juxtaposed with the MacBook curated tunage. On draft: try the lusciously nippy Black IPA or the charming honey sweet Belgian. They've got the hard stuff too, should you need to supplement. Sip away, once bug-sprayed, under the sodium lights, and revel in the night birds' chirping above your Adirondack. It's the holiest summer panacea: a swell space to bring a date, or to show off the softer side of Cleveland.
