First, we were tired and the front desk girl was chatting away with a person making a reservation on the phone. Finally a man joined her and he had trouble getting us checked in and had to wait for her to help him. So we finally get in our room. It was a bit dated, gap under the door, weird shower set up. And we noticed we could hear the people in the next room. We go out to dinner, come back and the room was cold so we turned the heat up a little. At 1 a.m., I woke up and was sweating so I turned it down. Then my husband got up and crawled into my bed because he was being bitten up by bedbugs. 6 a.m. (we had finally fallen back to sleep around 2:30) and the people next door are talking nonstop. We could hear every word they said. And now we can't fall back to sleep. So after a crappie night, I complained to the front desk and she offered me 15% off. That wasn't nearly enough. She also offered a discount on our next stay but I told her we won't be back. There are so many choices in Scottsdale and we are here often - why would I risk another night of bedbugs and noisy neighbors?
UPDATE: Jennifer called me and refunded the cost of the room, told me they tested for bedbugs and it wasn't those - maybe spiders or something. She offered for me to call her next time we are here and she would arrange a room in a different building. I gave them another star for excellent follow-up. I do appreciate that kind of attention to customer satisfaction.
