| - On September 22, my daughter took my Lexus RX350 to have a car wash at Clean Freak Via Linda, Scottdale location. As she was going through the car wash, the fan near the end was so strong that the air trap inside the passenger mirror cover pushes the mirror off from the motor housing and it cracked instantaneously by the blower. My daughter talked to the manager and they filled an incident report and took pictures. They said someone would contact her tomorrow.
On September 30, I called Clean Freak because they never call my daughter. They told me that I would receive a call from the manager tomorrow. Again, they never call so I call them again the next day and finally get a hold on Zach Bayer. In the beginning, Zach Bayer said Clean Freak is not liable for any damage to the car, we use their service at our own risk. I told Zach this was obviously their air blower caused the problem that their video camera can prove it so they should responsible for the damage. Zach changes his mind and agrees to replace my mirror but it can't be the new $200 genuine Lexus mirror, only the cheap after market on Amazon, which doesn't have the heating element and are not convex, or the used mirror on ebay but either one I have to split haft of the cost with Clean Freak. I think this is ridiculous and I refused his offered. I ended up paid $200 out from my pocket to replace the broken mirror with the genuine Lexus part.
If your mirrors are power adjustable just like mine, they are very easy to get push off from the motor housing by the powerful resonance air trap inside the cover. The problem is there are no screws tightened the mirror frame to the motor housing, the motor housing has a couple hooks and all you have to do is to press the mirror to get it on.
I will use the gas station car wash from now on. Go to Clean Freak at your own risk!
