I recently tried Kayak Pittsburgh for the first time and had a great experience! Both of my sisters were in town visiting so my husband and I wanted to show them a good time. Kayak Pittsburgh seemed like a really cool option that is very unique to Pgh. They are located directly underneath the Roberto Clemente Bridge next to PNC Park. The check in process was very easy - we just had to leave an ID or credit card as collateral to rent the kayak. We quickly got our life jackets and paddles and were on our way. The attendants helpfully told us which way to go so it'd be easier heading back. It was so much fun and beautiful to kayak around the point. We didn't have much kayaking experience but it's super easy and there's a lot to see. Definitely suggest wearing sunscreen and a hat - it was hot! We were able to watch some of a football game going on at Heinz Field on the big screen from the river. When we got back they pulled the kayak up on the ramp for us and checkout was very easy. They have a discount for Venture Outdoors members. Overall highly recommend! A very cool and unique Pittsburgh experience.
